Identification

14–15 cm (5½-6 in) Mostly ochraceous with white spots edged in black on the upperside and no barring below; legs red.

South America: found in Venezuela, Guyana, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil.

Habitat

A variety of dense grassland habitats from dry savanna to wet grassland.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet consists of a variety of insects, including beetles, stoneflies, grasshoppers, cockroaches and ants.

Breeding

Monogamous.
